iWire is essentially Internet through the electrical outlet. Conventional electrical power lines are used to build communication networks in building complexes, for example.

The Telkonet iWire System makes use of PPC (Proven Powerline Communications) technology to convert the electrical power distribution systems in buildings into intelligent, networked broadband platforms. The system is easily installed at a reasonable cost. Existing electrical power lines can be used without impairing their func-
tionality. Data transmission via power cable is reliable and – above all – safe. All broadband signals (DSL, T1, E1, cable and satellite) can be used. The Telkonet system was presented at the CeBIT Informative Eurasia show in October. The companies of Tunc Holding plan to cooperate with technology provider Telkonet to reach new markets in this field.

At the end of September 2007 TuncNet already implemented an iWire System of Telkonet at the Saray Regency Hotel in Ankara. TuncNet belongs to the Turkish Tunc Group. Tunc Holding will cooperate with the highly connected company in this segment.
